Judges for Justice

Injustice Anywhere is delighted to be working with Judges for Justice to help bring more attention to wrongful convictions. Judges for Justice is an organization created by retired judge, Michael Heavey.

Here is an excerpt from Judge Heavey's bio: Judge Heavey served 14 years as a Washington state lawmaker and over 12 years as a Judge on the King County Superior Court. He has presided over hundreds of criminal and civil cases in King County, Washington.

He is a close friend of Amanda Knox’s family and has been an outspoken advocate for her innocence. Since his retirement, he has presented speeches across the West Coast on the Knox case and the prevention of wrongful convictions. His work as a volunteer championing the innocence of Seattle neighbor Amanda Knox and her Italian co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito inspired Mike to get involved in the study of wrongful convictions in the US and around the world.

I am happy to be a part of the team Judge Heavey has put together and I am hopeful that Injustice Anywhere and Judges for Justice will be working together for many years to come. There is important work to be done.

Interesting link from their website. Can you spot one or more failures in any wrongful convictions you are familiar with?
